Having grandkids is a blessing that’s impossible to put into words. It’s like getting a fresh start on all of those precious moments, only this time you appreciate it more and you don’t have to deal with a lot of the less-exciting responsibilities that parents do.
Little did you know, when you become a grandparent you start to play a very interesting game of sorts. Even if you’re not a grandparent yet, you’ve probably seen this play out.
Time is your most valuable asset and you’ll do anything to get more time with your grandkids – even if that means competing against the in-laws for their attention!
We’re not here to judge, but this is a game we can certainly help you win.
Just imagine all the ways owning a vacation home in the Bahamas will guarantee you get more time with your grandkids (and kids)...
Do the in-laws have an ocean in their backyard? Can your grandkids swim with pigs and giant sea turtles when they visit the other grandparents?
We didn’t think so.
Keep reading to find out why grandkids love Schooner Bay (almost) more than we do.
Picturesque Beaches that Capture Their Imagination
Do you remember the first time you stepped foot on a beach?
It's awe-inspiring.
Kids are naturally fascinated by the beach. The sand, the changing tide, the crashing waves -- all of it.
For some of us, the splendor never goes away.
Unlike other beach destinations, the Bahamas has the clear-blue, turquoise water that kids are drawn to because you can see everything going on underwater. It's way more exciting than any aquarium in the world!
Activities that Fuel Their Sense of Adventure
Although we do have some great surfing spots, most of the beaches around Schooner Bay have calm waters that are safe for kids to play in -- whether that's swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, or whatever water games they come up with.
You can also set out to sea for sailing or fishing, where they'll have a chance to reel in a wide variety of fish in all shapes and sizes.
And with so many islands nearby, they'll love boating from shore to shore, feeling like they're crossing the world to discover new lands.
Unique Wildlife that Brings Their Favorite Stories to Life
When kids see animals, they don't just see birds and fish -- they see the characters from their favorite books and Disney movies. Here, they can meet all of their favorite characters up close and personal.
In the Bahamas, kids can swim with wild pigs, giant sea turtles, and dolphins. They can feed iguanas and stingrays.
While snorkeling, they'll see incredible wonders of nature along coral reef, a wide variety of fish, and encounter (friendly) sharks.
We have over 320 species of birds, and we even have a bat cave.
Visiting a zoo is fun, but it's nothing compared to seeing animals in the wild -- just ask your grandkids what they would prefer.
Future Kid-Friendly Amenities
"We get it -- grandparents will go to great lengths to get as much time as possible with their grandkids and we've given a strong consideration to this fact in the design of our master-planned community at Schooner Bay." -Chris Williams, CEO of Legacy Global Development
Keeping up with the little ones can get exhausting, so we're going to make it easier for you to relax while they play.
In the near future, we're adding a swimming pool near the Cabana Bar & Grill where you can eat, drink, and relax while the kiddos swim.
We're also adding a kids play area, an event lawn, and a recreational center for people of all ages to enjoy.
Needless to say, it's going to be even more difficult to convince your kids and grandkids to return home.
